A new version of TPD is now released.

Some new graphics have been added, including a new statusbar face, and sprites for both the trooper and the sergeant.  These graphics were rendered using DAZ Studio.  They require some clean up and repainting to get them looking all spiffy, but they are a massive improvement on the placekeeper graphics that were there before.

Additional menu graphics and level titles have been added, expanding on the work done in version 190207.

There is an odd issue with the latest version of GZDooM version 3.7.2.  For some unknown reason, attempting to play episode 1 in version 3.7.2 crashes GZDooM.  This despite the fact that TPD runs without any problem in earlier GZDooM versions.  The existing set of levels acting as placekeepers for episode 1 was removed and replaced with a new set of levels, but the error still perists.  GZDooM version 3.7.2 still crashes.  It is bad enough that versions of GZDooM from version 3.0 onward change the vertical offsets of all the sprites, and we have to deal with this too.

Groan.

T.P.D. is back!.

After a 14 year hiatus, TPD got rolling again in late 2017, and saw much development and several releases over the course of 2018.

Regretably, I have been a lazy toad, and did not update the website until today.  None of the new versions were linked, and only the original version from way back in 2003 could be found on this site.

Sorry.

The new TPD versions had been linked to via threads on the Chex Quest Fan Forums and on DooMworld, but now they are linked via the actual web page.

Justice is finally served.

T.P.D. version 0.01 is finally available for download.

I must apologize for the delay of over two weeks in uploading it.  Although version 0.01 has be ready since November 5, I have been too distracted by other things, including work on the models for T.P.D.'s new monsters (pics coming soon!), to get the readme file done.  Sorry about that.

So this is your chance to get a good laugh at our expense.  This version is extremely crude, but, as they say, you've got to start somewhere.

It has been a little over three months since work on T.P.D. began, and the first stage of this project is nearing completion.

Version 0.01 of T.P.D. is what one could call a pre alpha.  It is not going to look good by any stretch of the imagination.  It is merely a collection of place keeper entries that have been put together in order to create a complete IWAD.  The place keepers are not intended to make it into the final version of T.P.D..  They are merely proxies for entries that have not yet been created.  The entire purpose of each place keeper is to eventually be rejected.

So version 0.01, when ready, will be extremely lousy, and will seem to contradict the project goal of creating a professional quality IWAD, but this is not true.  Version 0.01 is simply a starting point—a framework on which the final IWAD will eventually be built.
